The Hollywood Writers Group was founded in 2024 by Andy Walraven with a single purpose in mind — to build a community of inspiring artists that are looking to support one another across all of our creative endeavors.
We are a place where writers come to share our process, find inspiration, and surround ourselves with other talented creatives.
Every two weeks, over 300 members — screenwriters, authors, showrunners, producers, actors, and playwrights, with some members having garnered Academy Award nominations, and multiple Emmy awards — gather together to share their perspectives, trade notes, and talk honestly about the issues facing the industry today.
Supportive and motivational. Just real conversation with people who share an interest in creative writing and the art of filmmaking.
In this dog-eat-dog world, our viewpoint is that we can all achieve our goals, and we can do it together by supporting, inspiring and motivating one another along our own unique path towards our own defined success.
Our conversations, in the form of resources and quick sheets are publicly available in support of creative artists from all walks of life.
Membership is by invitation-only, and meetings take place in the heart of Hollywood at a private venue with fine dining, bar service, and spaces built for connection — including a screening room, cabaret, and lounge.
We aren’t just a networking event. We are a community.
